Urban Healing Lodge 

The Urban Healing Lodge is a visionary non-profit initiative designed to provide a sanctuary for wellness, cultural revitalization, and healing in the heart of the city of Grande Prairie, Alberta. Our goal is to create a space where Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members can come together to restore balance in mind, body, and spirit through traditional knowledge, healing practices, and modern wellness methods. This innovative project aims to address the mental, physical, spiritual and emotional needs of urban residents, particularly those who have been impacted by disconnection from their culture, the land, and community.

Our Vision:

We envision the Urban Healing Lodge as a cultural hub where individuals from all walks of life can find support, healing, and empowerment. Rooted in the values of respect, reciprocity, and community, the Lodge will offer a safe and welcoming space for people to connect with Indigenous teachings, engage in ceremonies, and access mental health and wellness services. It will be a place for intergenerational learning, fostering a sense of belonging and unity through a variety of programs that honour Indigenous traditions while embracing modern approaches.  It is our hope this will be a space where the original occupants of this land can come together to take part in their culture and identity.  Ceremonial protocol and practices will be at the forefront of this initiative.
